Albuquerque Events

Albuquerque is home to events large and small, from weekend street fairs, to the world famous Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, which draws thousands of people to New Mexico every October. The Duke City has also been home, for 40 years and ongoing, to one of the world’s most recognized festivals – Gathering of Nations. With tens of thousands of attendees, and dancers and singers representing over 500 tribes from across Canada and the U.S., it is the largest Indigenous powwow in the world, and is held annually in the spring.

In addition to these hallmark events, Albuquerque’s cultural diversity and rich history fill the city’s calendar with an array of festivals, arts showcases, and culinary events year-round. The Old Town frequently comes alive with traditional music, dance, and craft fairs that pay homage to its Hispanic and Native American roots.

You’ll also find fun sporting events to cheer on, like New Mexico United soccer games, the Albuquerque Isotopes baseball team, and Duke City Championship Wrestling. The University of New Mexico’s football and basketball Lobos draw big crowds, and combat sports fans can look forward to many events throughout the year such as MMA and professional boxing tournaments.

Family-friendly street festivals and parades abound year round, including the Bosque Chile Fest, Harvest Wine Festival, and Aki Matsuri Festival in the fall, along with film, jazz, and blues festivals throughout the year. And then, there’s the Burque Rock City Fest for heavy metal fans, and even a Pirate Viking Summer Fest in nearby Edgewood – Pirates, Vikings, Mermaids, and Steampunk, oh my!

Albuquerque’s dynamic events scene offers something for everyone, year-round. From vibrant street fairs celebrating its multicultural heritage to intimate art gallery openings, to track and field National Championships, Albuquerque is waiting to share its bounty of life, fun, and spirit with you!
