A Message from Mayor Tim Keller

Moving To Albuquerque

Whether you’re considering moving to The Duke City for work or retirement, you’ll find that Albuquerque has a lot to offer its residents. The high desert here basks under more than 300 days of sunshine with a “dry heat” that is cooled in summer by monsoon rains. More and more large employers are finding Albuquerque is an attractive place to live for their employees, both for the housing market and pleasant climate as well as the fascinating history and culture of this Southwestern city.

Albuquerque’s economy is booming. With a relatively low cost of living, top-rated public schools, and a chill and laid-back attitude, its residents enjoy an enviable work/life balance. Enjoy stunning vistas of snow-capped mountains in the winter, ancient volcanoes and high desert mesas with quick access to incredible outdoor adventures available year-round.

The largest city in New Mexico, Albuquerque also benefits from its international airport, the “Sunport” and is a central location for national and international conventions held in the Southwest.

Known for its investment in small business incubators, savvy solicitation of top tech corporations, and support for sciences and the arts, Albuquerque attracts employment investment from both start-ups and top-tier companies in advanced technology, manufacturing, supply-chain, and filmmaking. It is known for being business-friendly as well as supportive of nonprofits for education, family services, and social and environmental causes. With a decent and extensive city-wide public transportation system, it also offers miles of bike paths and trails for both commuting and recreation. It is a very walkable city, especially in the heart of its downtown and uptown districts.

In addition to it becoming a major location site for streaming TV studio production and filmmaking, it is a major entertainment destination in the Southwest for large venue acts. Albuquerque offers a variety of opportunities and unique experiences waiting to be explored. Whether you’re looking to further your career in burgeoning industries, reconnect with family roots, or simply seek a new horizon in a city that marries the old with the new, Albuquerque has a space for you.

Making the move is more than just a change of address. It’s about embracing a diverse culture where the melodies of Native American drums blend with the bustling streets of Downtown and Uptown. It’s about trading morning commutes for mesmerizing hot air balloon views. And above all, it’s about enjoying a quality of life where work, play, and relaxation coalesce in a vibrant desert landscape. As you embark on this journey to Albuquerque, get ready to immerse yourself in a community that welcomes dreamers, doers, and everyone in between. Welcome to your next chapter.
