Mornings start before dawn during the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Between getting to the site and the thrill of the massing of colorful balloons, minor things like breakfast may take a back seat. But as mom always said, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and you’ll need some fuel to keep your energy up through this exciting experience! And it’s not just breakfast on offer: you can find delicious food to tempt you all day long.

Traditional Balloon Fiesta Park Breakfast
However, with almost a half mile of concession stands on the Balloon Fiesta Park Main Street, you will find something — or several somethings — to keep the energy level up throughout the morning and into the day. Traditional fair foods are represented, from donuts, funnel cakes, and churros to green chile cheeseburgers and fried potato spirals to pizza. But the champion at the fiesta is the breakfast burrito.
Breakfast of Champions
The traditional balloon fiesta breakfast is a burrito stuffed with eggs, chile, cheese, and whatever else the vendor tucks in at your request. There are up to a dozen vendors that offer breakfast burritos, so you have lots of options. If you’re visiting New Mexico, a breakfast burrito should be a must-do on your Balloon Fiesta bucket list.
Can you bring your own food and drinks?
While the Balloon Fiesta Park is very crowded during morning and evening launch times, you can bring folding chairs and a picnic or snacks. There are a limited number of benches, bleachers, and picnic tables available. Soft sided coolers can be carried into the park, but hard-sided coolers are prohibited. Each person is allowed one backpack or bag. Be aware that coolers and backpacks will be searched. Blankets should be carried over the shoulder for quick screening. Glass and alcohol are not allowed, but food of any kind is permitted for your consumption. However, resale is prohibited.
